Home office.
CLIENT BRIEF:
To create a small home office that "looks like it has always been there". The client needed a work area in his compact apartment in a Victorian building. He was concerned that a home office would not reflect the architectural details of the room and look out of place. The work area must be completely hidden at the end of the day.
THE PLAN:
To utilise the high ceilings, and create a grand piece of furniture. To draw on modern furniture hardware to close-off the work area leaving it looking like an authentic piece of Victorian fitted furniture. Construct out of a combination of mdf and solid pine, and finished with satin white paint to match the current trim in the room.
THE FINAL PIECE:
Clean and elegant design with attention to existing architectural details produces a grand piece of Victorian furniture with a comfortable work area with bespoke accommodation for a computer, printer and phone.
THE VALUE:
£4500
CUSTOMER COMMENTS:
"It looks like it has always been here - no one would know there is a computer behind there. Your designs are so well suited to the original features of the room...
we are very happy."
